Job Description:
The Sr. Software Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of major game systems. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in C++, a history of getting things done in a timely and practical manner with minimal supervision, and will seek to apply their experience in networked game development to creating a new generation of highly scalable, server-based game technology.
Responsibilities:
· will design, implement, optimize and de-bug systems
· will accurately estimate project time lines with lead designers and determines risks in order to drive projects forward effectively
· will works with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally
· will be responsible for multiple projects
· will lead project with multiple team members
· will be proficient in diverse problem solving
· will be assigned to short and long term projects
· will receive other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
· must have shipped a minimum of one server-validated game product, preferably MMO
· must have experience with Client/Server architectures
· must have computer skills that include Visual Studio, C, C++, and object oriented programming
· must have a minimum of 3 years experience in game software development
· must have excellent problem solving, time management, and detail oriented skills
· must be able to assist in design and implementation of various code systems and technologies for next generation gaming
· must be a self-starter and have the ability to work with normal levels of supervision
· must have solid written and oral communication skills
· must have a BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Science or related field
· should have experience with distributed systems
· should have experience with complex intra-server messaging, multithreading, bandwidth optimization
· should have an understanding of scalability and security issues
· should have experience with anti-cheating measures
· should have database knowledge
