Should I do what I know or something I think would be interesting and new?
Google it, no Twitter it – if you have a question about anything, I mean anything and want to get a quick honest answer
Twitter it. I have seen questions on there that vary from where to take someone on a date to advice on what to feed turtles. With the millions of users on Twitter someone is going to give you an answer. It has also caught on with those in the job market.
The problem I have found with getting employment advice on Twitter is that users were asking important questions, and due to the 140 character limit, they weren’t getting valid answers. “Questions from the Twitterverse” is going to be a new weekly feature on the AskBINC blog. Throughout the week I will mine Twitter for questions relating to the job market or your job search and answer them right here. Let’s take a look at some of the questions that have been asked this week:
@dedlam: Should I do what I know I can do? Or should I do what I think would be interesting and new?
@dedlam:it just depends how desperate you are to find a job. The safe route in this economy is to stick with what you know and prepare yourself by taking classes and courses on something you find interesting and new. That way when companies start hiring again and things calm down you will have training and fresh skills in something new. Then you can have the both of both worlds something you can do and interesting and new at the same time.
