Job Description:

(Job ID BE169643) This position is for a WhiteBox QA engineer to develop and execute automated functional and integration tests for a Java-based 3-tier enterprise application. This will require writing tests using Java and XML based technologies. The  individual will have a working knowledge of SQL, and be able to create, execute and evaluate intermediate SQL queries as required.  The candidate will be expected to participate in the development of tools to automate lab and testing tasks.

Responsibilities:

• will be responsible for developing test plans, scripts and test code to test the features
• will work in conjunction with the Development Team to ensure that all product functionality has associated tests and that the tests are executed on appropriate configurations at appropriate times 
• will be expected to help create the test automation suites (as necessary) and work with other QA Team members to implement a successful automation solution 
• will report all repeatable and/or traceable software errors utilizing the available online tools by providing all the information necessary for a quick resolution
• will provide assistance to the Development organization to reproduce the problem to aid in a timely resolution
• will track the status of all bugs in his/her assigned area to ensure a fast turn-around to Development on verification of fixes

Qualifications:

• must have 3 or more years experience in Software QA (formal or informal)
• must have several years experience as a software developer to supplement his/her QA knowledge
• must be able to successfully execute, evaluate the results of, and enhance if necessary the test cases created by other team members
• must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows, LINUX, and UNIX operating systems
• must have experience with an IBM AIX system
• must have ability to program in Java and/or .NET and several years of experience with scripting languages
• must have the ability to adapt to new programming and scripting languages 
• must have previous experience in a J2EE environment
• must have experience with databases
• must have experience with MS-SQL, DB2, or Oracle
• must have experience with testing tools (JUnit, XUnit)
• must be a self-starter, and be able to perform with minimal supervision while working in a diverse team environment
