Do you think you have what it takes to work for one of the most sought out social networking companies around? Well, Jamie Varon does. With the drive and desire to work for the ever so
popular Twitter, Jamie created the website TwitterShouldHireMe. As she states on her site “The sole purpose of this site is simple: I want to get hired at Twitter and the only way to stand out in this competitive job market is to do something unique.”
Jamie is trying to pursue her dream job, (literally) “I had a dream one night where I was hanging out with Evan Williams (even though I’ve never met him) and suddenly he became Dan Akroyd. If that doesn’t signify I’m meant to work at Twitter, then I really don’t know what does.”
From dropping by Twitter with a plate of cookies to emailing the hiring manager after her visit – Jamie is taking a unique and outside of the box approach to achieve her goal of working as the Executive Admin to the CEO. You go girl – I wish you luck!
You may not have to go to extremes, such as Jamie did, but you need to stand out from the crowd and give yourself a voice. Otherwise you will be swallowed in the sea of all the other job seekers out there.
For some tips on how to stand out from the crowd, please see and earlier post we did titled: Who Said Job Searching Can’t Be Fun

Wow, I want to hire me now after this article!
You just gave me such a huge boost of confidence. Thank you so much!
I’m going to feature this on my site.
This really is a brilliant idea – hopefully it will pave the way for others trying to obtain what many would deem ‘unobtainable’ jobs.
Jamie is such an inspiration to every young professional that has no idea how to land the job of their dreams. If you want it, then you need to work hard and take it for yourself.
I just did an interview w/ Jamie; her very first video interview ever! You can see the video here.
Let me know what you think of the vid because I would greatly value your feedback.
