Great article posted by Lea Woodward on Career Brazenist, a blog network written exclusively by members of Generation Y. I haven’t heard the term lifestreaming before, so until I hear otherwise, I’ll give her credit for the term. Lifestreaming is a very interesting concept that I am sure many of you reading this blog already practice without even knowing it. If you actively blog, use Facebook, participate in LinkedIn discussions, or Twitter, you can consider yourself an active lifestreamer. In short a lifestreamer is somebody who actively pushes information to the world via any of the above mentioned means. I think that in today’s hyper competitive job market, it is ever so important for candidates and companies to distinguish themselves from the masses.
If you are a candidate, I encourage you to start a blog, begin twittering and push your lifestyle/professional updates on LinkedIn and Facebook. This will help distinguish yourself from the masses as the unique individual that you truly are.
